Between the Lines: Yoram Afek
The reality following October 7th set me on a journey to explore new avenues of expression; everything around me had changed.
I found myself walking along the beach at Shdot Yam, gathering fragments of tiles washed ashore during storms. I poured concrete into molds, embedding the tiles and other materials into the soft mixture. Once it hardened, I carved lines and images into it, creating stories.
The tile fragments and concrete as a building material perfectly convey the spirit of the times—piecing together broken fragments and embarking on a new path.
The exhibition will also feature wall and floor sculptures from previous years. For me, this is an opportunity to create unique connections, one-of-a-kind encounters, and captivating dialogues within the gallery space, which I eagerly and excitedly anticipate.
