Lego Within Lego: David Hamias Landsman
Lego blocks are not just a game for children. Building with such blocks is a complexed process which preoccupies people all over the world, young and old. It is a hobbie as well as an art medium. The most noted Lego artist is Ai Weiwei who makes three dimensional pictures out of Lego parts.
David Hamias Landsman envisions buildings and constructs them out of Lego blocks. He isn’t an architect and therefore is free to fantasize and create as he pleases without constraints leaving his own individual mark. The Lego company respects his ideas and has occasionally made use of them.
The current exhibition in The Artists House Tel Aviv showcases his work for the first time serving as a datum in using a children’s game for artistic purposes.
